Junior Golf Travel League - Fall 2022

 
Most matches will take place on Saturday/Sunday afternoons with occasional matches on Mondays and Fridays, if necessary.  The tee times in the oldest division (12-15) starting after 3:00 p.m. Tee times in the younger division usually fall between 4:00-5:00 p.m. Matches are held at the following Westchester County golf courses: Dunwoodie in Yonkers, Hudson Hills in Ossining, Maple Moor in White Plains and Saxon Woods in Scarsdale. There are occasions when matches must be switched to a different day other than Sunday based on golf course availability.
 
All players will compete in a total of four matches. The match schedule is not set yet, but the season will run from mid-September through late October/early November depending on weather. Your child will NOT play every Sunday. Golfers will play four matches in that six- or seven-week window.
 
Practice days/times vary week to week depending on golf course availability. The week prior to a match your child will have the option of attending the practice that best fits your schedule. We usually offer at least two and sometimes three options (typically two weekday practice options and a Saturday practice option).
 
The two younger divisions (9-12 and 9-and-under) play a straight four-player scramble format. Each player hits a shot and all four players proceed to the best shot of the four and hit from that spot. This continues all the way into the hole, so the group records one score as a team (no individual scoring).
 
The oldest division (12-15) competes in a two-player best ball format as follows: Each player hits a tee shot. Both players proceed to the better of the two tee shots and then play their own ball into the hole from there. If Player A makes a par and Player B makes a bogey, then the team's score for that hole is a par.
 
All players receive a team shirt and a team hat, and trophies are awarded at the end of the season.
